PLEASE NOTE… When booking an MFR treatment, please come with comfortable clothes. Shorts and a sports bra or tank top are ideal. If it is your initial visit please note that there will be an intake form, if filled out ahead of time will save time in the session. It is helpful to book 90 minutes to give us enough time to explain the work and explore all areas of concern. Text 1-306-471-7550 if help is needed.
Hi! My name is Jim Ludwig, I'm the owner of Naturally Chill Therapy and Wellness and would love to get to know you and what is keeping you up at night better!
I am a 2,200+ Hr trained massage therapist and also have a certificate in sports therapy. I have taken various seminars for the John F Barnes method of Myofascial Release (MFR) as well as have various tips and tricks into the world of breathwork and cold therapy.
I will keep my story as brief as possible. What lead me to this path was a couple of things...a car accident and youth sports. My car accident in 2007 left me with 3 compression fractures in my lumbar spine and looking for a way to cope with it. I tried a few modalities and relied mostly on monthly massages for relief. In early 2019, I found Myofascial Release; after 4 treatments, I felt better than ever and it had staying power. I learned about my own body and what I needed to do to heal. This was amazing and I really wanted to be able to do this for other people! We can only ever heal ourselves but sometimes need a facilitator to get us on the right track! My sports story includes coaching/trainer for a daughter with football and two sons with hockey and lacrosse. I was the trainer for all three and thoroughly enjoyed being able to give relief to athletes and help them better recover and get ready for events. In 2022/2023, I was also the trainer for the Queen City Kings (Junior B Lacrosse) as well as continued support for the CLL Canadian Development Team globally. Being a part of a young person's growth as a human is the most important part of sports for me!
As I mentioned earlier, my favored approach is Myofascial Release (MFR) which is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that applies a gentle, sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to treat pain and restore mobility. The essential time element triggers the piezoelectric response which battles the inflammatory response and allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate and return to function.
FASCIA is a densely woven specialized continuous system of connective tissue resembling a "spider web", gauze, or a sweater that interpenetrates and covers every part of the body from head to toe including muscle, bone, nerves, blood vessels, and organs (including the brain and spinal cord). The continuous part of this is the important part as it is sometimes not where the pain is that needs treatment most.
Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures can create pressures of approximately 2000 psi on pain sensitive structures that do not show up on many standard tests like x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, etc.
We always need to grow and develop and will continue to gain experience chasing something new for as long as we live. Let me use that experience for you!
